How it Began
The creator of Linux, Linus Torvalds, was on the mark when he said, “Avoiding Complexity Reduces Bugs”. And this was the premise on which sfpixel grew, which by the way started out as a curiosity in the summer of 2010.
Born and raised in San Francisco, after graduating with a double major in Economics and History, I moved to Belgium to work as a Client Relations Manager. What I loved most, besides the museums and waffles :-), was that it gave me a chance not only to hone my business & communication skills, but I loved seeing people succeed and to know that I had a little something to do with their success, was gratifying beyond words. Fueled with that passion, I wanted to open a community-focused online newspaper so I could do this on a larger scale. At the time, most online news sites were crude, cluttered, lacking design aesthetics. Information was lost amid word-noise.
I wanted to build a news website with all the complexities that come with running a full-fledged newspaper but with one key difference—content creators and audience should find it simple to use. I decided to learn everything from ground-up. I dove head first into the world of codes. HTML, CSS, PHP and whatnot. It was overwhelming, but I enjoyed every hour of learning, making mistakes, learning some more, and finally succeeding.
After six months of perseverance, my first site was ready for unveiling. It was a huge success in the community, and to me personally. My newfound interest of coding, combined with my love for helping people succeed, was just perfect. I loved turning complex ideas into simple solutions.
In my heart, I’m still a kid who calls San Francisco his home, and that is how the name sfpixel came to be.

As beings, we are happiest when complex ideas are turned into beautiful, functional & simple solution. We’ve come to expect this from companies, services, products, even our politicians. And that is what we love doing at sfpixel, making people happy by turning all their ideas into a simple, usable & profitable solution.
Why work with me?

Because I was once in your shoes
I promise this won’t be a long story! Before my love affair for building & designing began, I was simply looking for someone to build me an easy to use, functional website. What I saw were sites that were clunky, slow, and unattractive. I wanted to work with individuals, who would be vested in my project, not a company who’d treat me as a file and assign a project manager from a pool of hundred. One day I said to myself, what my Dad had rightly said. “If you want something done right, do it yourself”.
So I did, and continue to do so for every client.
Because Caring = Giving Back
To show gratitude for their service and sacrifice, sfpixel is giving a 50% discount for our veterans and service members transitioning out of military duty. To all those who have served, and those who continue to do so… Thank you.
